Exciting Things
I have a couple of fun things to share with everyone. First, I have finished a new Nana Files story. It’s called ‘Nana and the Birthday Bomb’ and it’s a short story prequel to ‘Nana and the Vampires’. It takes place on Cindy’s 12th birthday and is a glimpse into what life was like for the girls before the vampires, zombies and werewolves moved to town. Cindy and Becky, with a little (very little) help from their friends, stand up to their nemesis, Lizzy Hurley and prevent a smelly disaster…in typical Nana files style. And the best thing? I’ll be giving it away! Yes, you read that correctly, ‘Nana and the Birthday Bomb’ will be free for everyone that signs up for my email list.
Here’s a sneak peek at the cover. Those eyes belong to one of my beautiful granddaughters, Heaven.
I have also revised and updated ‘The Lazy Believer’ and ‘Divine Appointments’ and they have new covers also. You can check them out on the books tab or go to Amazon. (Purchase a copy while you’re there, you know you want to.)

Our Words
James 3:3-13 The words we speak can affect our lives and the very atmosphere around us. Our tongue is small, but powerful and our words determine the course of our lives.
Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
In the Hebrew the words translated ‘living soul’ actually mean speaking spirit.
We are speaking spirits, created by God to be like Him and operate like He does. In Genesis chapter 1 we see how God does things. God said “Light be,” and light was. God said, God said, God said. He created us to speak, to use our words to establish His plan and purposes in the earth.
Mark 11:22-24 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
We must choose life, choose blessing. Our words are directly connected to our choices. We choose what we say. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
Of course, the words we speak are directly connected to the thoughts we think. This is why renewing our minds to the word of God is so important. We can’t think like the world (those who don’t know Jesus) thinks and be able to speak words of faith and power.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
The word translated ‘transformed’ in this verse comes from the Greek word metamorphoo and it’s where we get metamorphose or metamorphosis from. It means to transform or change like a caterpillar changes or morphs into a butterfly. To change into something completely different. This is the power of the word of God.
We renew our minds by reading, meditating and speaking God’s word. That’s why so many Bible teachers and pastors will tell us to read a chapter every day; they know we need to change our thinking, so we can change our lives.
Our thoughts and our words set the course of our lives and determine our success or failure.
- Read the Bible. Put God’s word in your heart and mouth and change the way you think.
- Speak God’s word. Confess the promises of God, say what He says.
- Expect to receive from God.
God bless,
Cyndy

Update: Stone Survival and Stone Survival: Endurance
I know you’re probably thinking, “Is she ever going to finish this book?”
Well good news, as I told you previously, I finished the first draft of Stone Survival and I am (slowly, but surely) working on rewrites and edits. I lost a couple of months writing time due to physical illness, but I am starting to feel a little stronger and I think I will be able to get back into the swing of things. Also this is the first full length novel I have ever written and it’s been a challenge, but I am slogging along and hope to finish and publish in this lifetime.
Meanwhile, book two in the series is also in progress and I have got to say I am really loving it! I am six chapters in and the story-line is moving well. I haven’t kept the pace I had while writing the first draft of book one, which was a thousand words a day. I’m happy if I get a full sentence done some days, but like I said, the stronger I feel, the more I accomplish.
I am working in a new (to me) writing software called Scrivener. It is awesome, but I have to admit there is a learning curve and I haven’t perfected the use of it yet. I need to make time to watch the training videos again so I can fully utilize this amazing software. Click on the icon to get your 30 day free trial Scrivener download.
Excuses, excuses, right? Basically, I’m saying don’t give up hope, the books are being written and will be available (relatively) soon.
God bless,
Cyndy
